IMAGINARY FRIENDS

Are imaginary friends psychological or paranormal?. This was found to be a difficult area to cover, so R.I.P thought it would be a good idea to try and explain from both angles.

Logical
It is very common for a child to have an imaginary friend (also known as an imaginary companion). Sometimes the imaginary friends can continue through to adulthood but this is very rare. On these rare occasions mental health would be looked at and evaluated.
An imaginary friend can occur or "come to life" when a child is in "play" and perhaps they need a character for his/her game if, for example, they are playing alone. It is then possible for the child to create the imaginary character into their permanent and regular friend, even to the point of giving their "friend" a name, age, clothes and other personal traits, also telling you what he/she looks like. The childs "friend" may been seen to come to light more when the child is possibly feeling lonely, upset, anxious or even looking for someone else to blame if they feel they have been "naughty". Once the child is at school and they make "real" friends, their imaginary friend does usually disappear.

Spiritual
Is it possible for a child to have a being from the spirit world, who they would call their friend?. Children are very open to "unseen forces", that adults are not. Children are innocent to it all and do not know any different other than what they see and experience on a day to day basis. Is is so unusual for another being from a parallel universe to befriend a child on our planet?, to be their friend and guide?. After having many conversations with adults (most of them now working as mediums). We have found out that they also had an imaginary friend, who used to talk, play and interact with them. It was only as they got older that they realised why this was.

conclusion
Imaginary friends are still widely debated and to yet we are to come to a clear conclusion on the topic. We do feel that there will never be any real proof of this as it is scientific up against spiritual and people must choose the path of their own beliefs. Their is so much that we, as a planet, do not understand about the paranormal. Is it possible that we are just not ment to understand and except it for what it is?.
